The Step Forward Program at River City Christian School specializes in teaching children with autism and developmental delays. The reading, writing and math curriculum emphasizes communication, socialization and cooperation skills.

The main goal of the Step Forward Program is to prepare children to be properly mainstreamed into the regular classroom and eventually into a non-assisted living environment.

We believe that the most important key to success for our children is to learn how to learn. The mission of the Step Forward Program is to include, challenge and embrace people with autism and developmental disorders by teaching them to operate within our societal structure and by influencing others to become aware of the good news - autism is treatable.
